About Us

Founder of Higher Art, David Ramsey, was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He recognized the important role art played in his life at a young age. His mother encouraged him to pursue every artistic expression he could get his hands on. The power and sanctuary that he found in art, is the tool he wants to share with his community. David believes that through artistic expression, we can bridge gaps, heal wounds, and release the frustrations that lead to many of the worlds troubles.

Established in August of 2016, we partner with local artist, community groups, and business in using art to accomplish the goal of impacting change.

Higher Art is a nonprofit organization devoted to educating youth and young persons in artistic expression as a powerful and positive outlet. Through workshops we allow participants the chance to gain valuable methods of expressing themselves through different mediums. Artistic expression has been proven to aid in traumatic experiences, retention of knowledge, and development of new ideas.

The ability to be creative is key to the success of youth. Creative expression can also be a deterrent to risky behavior. The education programs are tailored to different environments and audiences. We strive to make an impact in our communities and future by arming young people with a skill set and belief in themselves that will allow them to successfully combat the many hurdles of life.
